Anyone for Tutti Frutti?
In many ways the new single ‘Sweet As It Is’ encapsulates the feel-good spirit that lives in all of Cousin Leonard’s music. A pure celebration of the good times spent with family and friends, old and new. It is instantly catchy, evoking an uplifting sense of familiarity with gratifying satisfaction.
Musically, the song is filled with all the signature wholesome sounds that epitomize CL.
Rich vocal harmonies, acoustic guitars, trombone, percussion and a trickle of rocking bass. Wrap this all together with a selection of funky beats, studio treats and an assortment of other tasty original additives and what we have here is a fun-time pop song to sing along to and enjoy.
As a simple conversation of sorts, 'Sweet As It Is' looks at our place in the world and making time to be joyous. For the love of life and all it’s natural treasures. Cherishing and preserving all that we have.
Above all, this song is a point of fond reflection to what we really are and how we can all just be.

The initial ideas for this song were brought to the kitchen table by Gian Wagland, at his and his wife Cloudy Davey's family home in Bethany, Barossa Valley, SA. On the eve of 'Gourmet Weekend' 2014, we laughed, we cried, we drank, we shared a wholesome meal together and we sang the night away. Tom re-wrote and rearranged a few different versions of the song in the ensuing years and CL did try these out live on stage a handful of times. Now, this time, with Marty and old family friend Bart Bee, the Williams Brothers have put together a rendition that we hope all will enjoy.
